How to go in the Vatican
The Vatican is on the opposite bank of the Tiber from the Historic Center of Rome, a little distant from the Termini station and even more from the Tiburtina station.
To get to the Vatican then take the metro line A and get off at the Ottaviano stop, which is a few meters from St. Peter's Basilica, or in Cyprus, if you want to go to the Vatican Museums.

From Ciampino Airport Getting from the Ciampino airport to the Vatican by public transport is rather simple as the airport is not far from the underground line A.
Just take a bus (the 520) that takes you to the nearby Subaugusta and Cinecittà stations of metro A, and then take the metro to one of the two stations in the Vatican.

From Fiumicino Airport Once landed you can take the Trenitalia train which leaves every 15 minutes, direction Tiburtina Station, and get off at Trastevere. From here, take the regional train towards Civitavecchia and get off at Roma S. Pietro.
With a 10 minute walk you arrive in Piazza San Pietro.

From historic centre
Castel Sant'Angelo is separated from the historic center only by the Tiber. Crossing it, in fact, on Ponte Sant'Angelo and taking the street of Via di Panico, you arrive on the beautiful Via dei Coronari, full of souvenir shops and art galleries, which reaches Piazza Navona.
The best way, therefore, to get to the Vatican, on foot, from the historic center is to reach Piazza Navona, exit the square on the short side (after the Fontana del Nettuno), on Piazza di Tor Sangiugna and from here there are two options: take via dei Coronari as specified above, or go straight to the lungotevere, where you have a magnificent view of the Tiber with Castel Sant'Angelo and the dome of San Pietro in the background.
